An editor once told me that Americans always trust other Americans more than foreigners. I see this confirmed all the time with friends visiting Paris: they’re constantly eager to show me spots owned or reviewed by their fellow countrymen. More often than not, these places are packed with American tourists and mostly avoided by locals. Sometimes, they’re outright “tourist traps” — the kind of places in France we call attrape-touristes — dressed up to lure unsuspecting visitors into paying more for food that isn’t necessarily any better than elsewhere.
For those of you hoping to experience Paris through a more genuinely French lens, I thought you might enjoy a different perspective on recommendations from the most famous American food blogger out there. So, after the first post, here’s part two of my take on David Lebovitz’s picks.
